Lady Bison nab big share of All-District honors

District 21AA Defensive Player of the Year: Jordyn Briscoe The All-District softball team selections have been announced and BHS’ young Lady Bison team grabbed a huge share of the honors in District 21AA, including one of the district superlatives. Sophomore shortstop Jordyn Briscoe, who tormented opponents all year by snagging would-be hits out of mid-air, earned the title of Defensive Player of the Year.

Four Lady Bison were selected to the First Team All District: Seniors Kayla Morris (first base) and Jami Davis (centerfield), and sophomore pitcher Rachel Morris and catcher Jennifer Pate.

Second Team All District selections were sophomore Nikki Dorman at third base, junior Blaize Harriman at left and sophomore Heather Sigert at second base. Junior Meredith Shaw (outfield) and freshman Lindsey McGill (designated player) earned Honorable Mention.

The Lady Bison, coached by Tracy Harrison and Alice Read, had a very successful year. They finished third in a very strong district, behind Corrigan-Camden and Centerville.
