Two local highways to receive funding Austin, TX// Today, local State Representative Jim Dunnam, Chairman of the Select Committee on Federal Economic Stabilization Funding, announced that over $9.4 million will come to Leon County to improve local highways. The funds will allow the Texas Department of Transportation to repair FM 542 near Centerview and resurface sections of IH-45 between Buffalo and Centerville. "Maintaining our transportation infrastructure is vital to the state, and I am glad to see our local tax dollars come back to Leon County" said Dunnam. "These highway projects will help meet our transportation needs and have a positive effect on the local economy." As the Chairman of the Select Committee on Federal Economic Stabilization Funding, Dunnam has been involved in the dedication of federal dollars to transportation projects throughout the legislative session. "These two projects will create more jobs, relieve the county's road maintenance costs, and allow for needed improvements to our local highways," said Dunnam. "I am very pleased to see that these two highways are going to get some work done on them.
