Ben Allen Stevens
Mr. Stevens died Sunday at Cartmell Home for Aged. He was born May 22, 1932 in Leon County to Elby Stevens, Sr. and Rosa lee Rippy Stevens. Mr. Stevens was a self employed carpenter. He was a member of the Back to the Bible Church in Oakwood. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Stevens was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Shirley Smith Stevens, and a sister Hazel Marie Miller. He is survived by his wife Audrey Carter Stevens of Oakwood, a daughter Janie Richmond and husband Mickey, sons, Stanley Stevens and wife Kathy, Joe Stevens and wife Kandace, Benny Stevens and wife Beverly all of Oakwood, Homer Stevens and wife Candace of Palestine, and Audrey's son Michael Carter and wife Lauria of Sacremento, CA., sisters Selma Eggleston and husband Francis of Tyler, Loy Pennington and husband Ike of Hammon, OK., and Ann Roper and husband Doyle of Mixon, brothers Johnie Stevens and wife Kathryn of Buffalo, Douglas Stevens and wife Mary and Elby Stevens, Jr. all of Oakwood, twenty one grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-inlaw, Will Allen Stevens, Jake Stevens, Justin Stevens, Jeremy Allen, Rusty Holcomb, Jimmy Reed, Michael Zuniga, and Hugo Salguero. Condolence calls will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mt.
