Carolyn Williams plans to begin a new mission

Buffalo's Carolyn Williams has a passion for helping young children get off to a good start. During the school year she serves as the local home-based teacher for Headstart in our area, and she has also been a foster mother. Each summer for the past four years, that passion has taken her far, far from home. Carolyn is currently gearing up for a mission trip to Honduras at the end of the month. Travellling with Pastor Dale Osteen and a team from First Baptist Church in Jacksboro, she will be returning to a village where she has served before. The area may have been damaged by the large earthquake which hit Honduras last month.

Although Carolyn speaks "only pocito Spanish", she has been able to make friends in the village and is looking forward to building on those relationships this summer. In past years she has also spent time helping at an orphanage, but the short duration of this year's journey will not allow that side trip.

Carolyn is working with a very limited budget, and could use some help with the costs of this trip. She would also love to be able to take some practical gifts to Honduras. She is therefore, soliciting donations of soap, toothpast and toothbrushes, eyeglasses, and over-thecounter medications. Anyone who would like to contribute can drop things off at First Baptist Church between 8:30 and 3:30, or at The Horses Mouth bookstore. You may also contact Carolyn directly at 903-322-6354 or 903-258- 3944.
