Centerville church welcomes new pastor
First female pastor at FUMC
Charles W. Richards and Rev. Joy M. Richards Centerville First United Methodist Church would like to announce the arrival of their new pastor, Rev. Joy M. Richards, on June 14th. Rev. Richards will be the first female pastor at Centerville FUMC since its beginning. Rev. Richards graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity Degree. She moves to Centerville from Aldersgate Trinity United Methodist Church in Port Arthur, Texas. Rev. Richards' undergraduate degree is from Texas State University in San Marcos.
Rev. Richards is married to Charles W. Richards, who is an attorney for the State of Texas working for the Texas General Land Office in Austin. The Richards have five grown children and six grandchildren.
We are very pleased to welcome to our community Rev. Richards and her family and look forward to working in ministry together. We hope you will come to visit our church at the first chance you get and meet Rev. Richards. Worship service is 11am to noon each Sunday. Sunday School Classes are from 10am to 11am.
A prayer from Rev. Richards: "May our Lord bless our community in all ways. May we walk in peace together, growing in our love and knowledge of God. May we each be given much hope and may God's glory be upon us so that we may personally experience the LORD'S presence our lives.
