FFA Banquet celebrates a big year
      The Buffalo FFA held their annual awards banquet on Tuesday, May 19th at the Buffalo Civic Center. The 2008-09 FFA officers, led by President Amy Terry, presided over the ceremony. Highlights of the event included a slide show, recognition of the members' honors and awards throughout the year, and a barbeque dinner catered by Shepps BBQ in Palestine.

      AUSTIN - (May 18, 2009) For the week ending May 16, 2009, feeder cattle price trends at Texas auctions were mixed, with most locations steady to $4 higher per hundredweight, but a few steady to $3 lower. Fed cattle prices were higher as beef prices increased. Cotton prices were lower amid higher global supplies and weaker demand.

      COLLEGE STATION - Conditions varied widely across Texas, with crops off to a good start in some areas thanks to rains. As for other parts of the state, it was either too much, too little or too late, according to reports from Texas AgriLife Extension Service personnel.
