The Centerville Tiger Tennis Team competed at the Region 3 tennis championships in Tyler on April 22-23. The Tigers had the largest group to compete in the tournament in school history. In Girls Doubles, Jessica Hergesheimer and Jill Lacey faced a tough, athletic team from Ore City and lost to them 6-3, 7-6. More ... The Leon Lady Cougars softball teams earned a spot in the state playoffs by defeating the Marlin Lady Bulldogs 19-4 on April 21. This marks the first time the Lady Cougars advanced to the playoffs. Rosebud-Lott captured first place in district, the Franklin Lady Lions were runners up and the Lady Cougars came in third. More ... There was a four way log jam for the top spot in the district between Centerville, Buffalo, Camden-Corrigan and Onalaska. Centerville defeated Onalaska 2-1 on April 24 and the buffalo Lady Bison defeated Camden-Corrigan in the second game. VS ONALASKA Ryan Read took the mound for the Bison as they hosted Onalaska in a make-up game on Monday afternoon. The sophomore got himself in trouble in the first inning, loading the bases, but saved himself, as well, throwing two strikeouts and catching a pop-up. Onalaska pushed one run across the plate. The Lady Bison and Bison track teams took advantage of a regional qualifier's meet in McGregor last Thursday to run against some quality competition.
