Ambulance service restored (temporarily)

On Wednesday morning, April 15th, Legacy Ambulance Services responded to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 79 in front of Texas Burger/Subway. A Flynn resident, Mary Tudor, was charged for failing to control the speed of her Dodge pickup when she struck a Leon County sheriff's department vehicle driven by Deputy George (Skip) Young. A one-year-old baby boy was restrained in a child's safety seat and was uninjured. A second passenger, Loretta Coplan, was taken by ambulance to Fairfield.

Legacy, which is based in Bryan/College Station, agreed to a one-month stint but the future of the ambulance service in our area is now in the hands of the voters who will determine on May 9th whether or not to create ESD #4, a taxing district to support emergency services in northeast Leon County.
