The Centerville tennis team competed at the District 21-AA tournament April 8 in Bryan. The Tigers dominated the meet, bringing home with team championships in Girls Varsity, Boys Varsity, JV Girls and JV boys. More ... Both of the BJHS boys teams came up just short of the championship title in hardfought battles at the District Track Meet in Trinity last Friday. Eighth Graders take 3rd The eighth grade track team collected eighty-four points throughout the district meet in Trinity last Thursday. That effort was good enough for third place behind Centerville and Anderson-Shiro. In the field events, the Lady Bison garnered twenty points. Raven Lott won the long jump, and Ana Lopez had the second longest throw in the discus. More ... Men's results for April 8 This day's format was a SKINS game, where each hole is won by the player with the lowest score. If there is a tie, the hole (or holes) is carried over to the next and so on until a player wins a hole with the lowest score. That player then also wins any holes that were carried over.. Thirtytwo members played, forming eight 4-man teams. More ... The Lady Cougars defeated the Hearne Lady Eagles twice last week, but lost to Franklin to fall into a tie with Teague for third place in the district race with identical 4-3 district records. The Lady Cougars dominated in the double header on April 7th, winning the opener 17-1. More ... With only three games remaining in district play, there is a four-way tie for first in district 21AA. Centerville's loss to Onalaska last Tuesday, brought the Lady Tigers back to the other three contenders, Buffalo, Corrigan- Camden and Onalaska. Buffalo took care of business this week, defeating two non-contenders, Groveton and Trinity. More ... The Lady Bison track team is still improving as they go into the district week. Buffalo competed in the Franklin meet last Wednesday, and came up with their best times in all three relays.
