Step Outside
A case of mistaken identity
      Everyone remembers when and where they spotted their first wild turkey. The author has to roll his mind all the way back to Junction, Texas circa 1987 to recall his first sighting of the majestic wild turkey. To tell the absolute truth, that 11-year-old East Texas youngster didn't know exactly what type of birds had strutted by his deer stand that November morning.

Straight from The Horse's Mouth
      My experience of life here is broadening. It's deeper and more expansive than just good country living, (which doesn't get any better than in Buffalo!) It's more than gorgeous horse pastures and quiet fishing holes; it's even more than homegrown. We are a unique pin-point on the map where the whole world comes to our door.

Letters to the Editor
      Dear Editor, Leon County officials would have us believe that the creation of ESD #4 is the only alternative for providing ambulance service and fire protection to the proposed district. This would create another taxing entity on property owners, which is the last thing we need, especially those on fixed incomes.
