      In our neck of the woods dyeing, hiding and hunting boiled eggs is a long time Easter tradition. But what do you do with all those boiled eggs when Peter Cottontail has moseyed on down the road and Monday morning comes.       The Buffalo Animal Control Officer and the Buffalo Police Department have released a report stating that subjects have been dropping dogs and cats off and deserting them. This is a crime! Please be aware of the fact that if you are caught doing this, you may be charged with animal cruelty.

      The Lone Star Community Center held its regular meeting on April 6 at the Center. Secretary/ Treasurer Margo Carmichael was absent so there were no reports read. One of the first topics of discussion was the health of several long time members.

BHS One Act Play Advances to Regionals
Movin' on Up!
      The Buffalo High School One Act Play, "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" competed in Huntsville on April 7th and was one of two plays selected to advance out of Area 2, Region III. The BHS troupe now moves on to compete at Regionals on April 24th -- one step away from the State Competition.

      Resurrection Day has come and gone with much celebration and a lot of talk about the savior and his demise and return. Every day one should be thankful of the sacrifice He made on that day. North Creek will be having a revival soon. Watch for further notice on the dates and who is the speaker. The pantry day this month was not well attended.

Leon County Health Fair slated for April 22nd
      Join us to discover the treasure of life: Good Health! Wednesday, April 22, 2009, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., will bring to Leon County the 2nd Annual Health Fair. The Health Fair will be held in the Leon High School Gym, in Jewett, Texas. The Health Fair is brought to Leon County by the efforts of the Leon County Health Resource Center.

      Krystina Barnes will marry Charles Drees on May 1, 2009 at Elmwood Gardens in Palestine, Texas. Krystina is the daughter of Buster and Eva Barnes of Palestine. Charles is the son of Larrell and Kay Drees of Palestine and the grandson of Charles and Linda Sims of Oakwood. We would like to wish them happiness and may God be with them both.
