Betty Hutto Barnett

Graveside services for Mrs. Betty Hutto Barnett, 69, were held on Friday, April 3, 2009, at 1:00p.m. at Marquez Cemetery. Bro. Billy Bob Evans officiated.

Mrs. Barnett was born in Marquez and passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at Trinity Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler. She had lived in Palestine for the past two years, but was a lifelong resident of Leon County. She graduated from Jewett High School in 1958 and worked for Perry's and Duckwall's for a combined twenty years. She was baptized into Christ in Frankston, but attended Missionary Baptist Church in Buffalo for many years. She loved to grow flowers and collect trinkets and various nick-knacks. Mrs. Barnett is survived by two sons, Bill Foley & wife Beth and James (Mike) Foley & wife Josephine; five grandchildren, Michael Foley, Stewart Foley, Willis Foley, Erin Foley, & Lauren Foley all of Palestine; numerous nieces, nephews, other relative and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis E. (Bill) & Eva Gaskin Hutto; one brother, Cameron Hutto; and one sister, Eloise Raymond.
