Puppy update

      Last week you read about six puppies which were dumped on the county road that runs by my house. And this week I can report that all the puppies now have homes, and I trust, good ones. I received several calls from interested parties, not all wanting to adopt a puppy. One called to say that the Palestine Animal Shelter will take the dogs for a small fee.

OISD shows improvement in enrollment numbers

      The Oakwood Independent School District Board of Trustees met in a regular meeting on March 30, 2009 at the Oakwood ISD Administration building. A certificate was presented to elementary student of the month, Olivia Emanuel. Olivia is in the third grade and is the daughter of Stephanie Newsome.
