Centerville kidnapping fugitive arrested in Houston

Leon County Sheriff's press release:

James Lee Phillips James Lee Phillips James Lee Phillips, age 41 of Centerville, was arrested in Houston at his mother's residence by the United States Marshals and officers from the Houston Police Department. Phillips was wanted out of Leon County for warrants that include Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault and a federal warrant for Felon in Possession of a Firearm on 3-23-09.

An investigation conducted by the Marshals Service and the Leon County Sheriff's Office revealed the suspect's mother's address in Houston and the Marshals surveilled the apartment for several hours before executing the warrants. Phillips was found hiding inside his mother's apartment under a pile of his mother's dirty clothing. Phillips had previously evaded arrest twice before. He and all other fugitives need to know that you can't outrun the long arm of the law.
