Mayor Pro Tem Royce Dawkins The Buffalo City Council held a special meeting on Monday afternoon, March 16, to address a couple of matters left unfinished at last week's regular March meeting. Several guests were present in the audience to represent the interests of the Buffalo Youth Organization, and Dr. Russell Jonas spoke for the group during the opportunity for public comments, petitioning the Council for funding.
The Council, represented by Mayor Pro Tem Royce Dawkins, Steven Oliver, Tim Ezell and Dorothy Farmer, then approved a budget adjustment establishing a Motel Occupancy Tax Account balance of $56,376.50. Following that action, they approved funding the BYO with $7676.80 to be used for tournament play and committed to help fund advertising for the Buffalo Gun Show and the grand opening of the Davis Country Store. All three items were designated to come from the Motel Occupancy Tax Account, in compliance with the restrictions of using those funds for advertising, dues and subscriptions.
