Ramblings from Centerville Healthcare Center

by Brenda Rae, AD

What a week! We had our Resident Council Meeting on Monday with a very good turn out of residents present. We got a lot accomplished. We played bingo in the afternoon, Tuesday Brother Spurling was here for his regular service, and we had a lot of fun with dominoes in the afternoon.

Wednesday we welcomed the Gospel Four Singers and also had our Family Council Meeting in the almost-completed-Chapel. Things are looking good around here; what with the new patio cover and hopefully a new fence around the patio area. We like to be able to see out and watch the cars go by, folks watching in their yards, and so on. The afternoon brought Mr. Jones and Lester and Gussie Simons, who sang all our favorite songs. Ms. Gussie always sings one of mine and Mr Pierce's favorites, "Silver Haired Daddy of Mine." She had all of us singing "You Are My Sunshine," and of course Mr. Jones' guitar just accompanied all the singing. Oh how I would have loved to have heard him when he was young and in his prime. His fingers surely must have been like greased lightning. The years have been good to him, in that he can still pick with the best of them!

Thursday morning we were blessed to have Nancy, Kennith, and Glen help us with bingo. Each table had someone to help with numbers not seen. We had a lot of winners, but Ms. Perline won the black-out.

Thursday afternoon, Ed, Joyce, and the gang will delight us with a lovely Bible Study and the singing is always grand.

We wish Ms. Barbara a Happy Birthday, and many more to come. She is a blessing to all that know her.

God Bless!
