Straight from The Horse's Mouth
Laura St. John Life in the Verdant Fairy Forest had become uncomfortable. It was over-crowded, exceedingly materialistic and painfully impersonal. The new Move-Ins to Buffalo, the fairy family, found our town to be just perfect. Here they've found the wide open spaces they craved. They fly around oak trees sprinkling pixie dust to encourage spring. They play a fairy version of Cowboys and Indians among our buildings which are situated comfortably apart. They enjoy long walks, well flutters really, at sunset. As more move in they plan to join clubs and groups to learn and share what they have to offer. A lesson that had been lost on the fairies in the hustle-and-bustle world of the V. F. F. is that when life slows down and people come together, the quality of life expands ten-fold.
So happy they are to have found Buffalo, they've convinced many of their friends to come. We now have a whole neighborhood of fairy families. They've found suitable work and are flourishing. The Willowands, the bookish ones who live in THM, review books. They pull the most interesting and display them for the humans to choose.
The Kelpies made their home in the coffee shop. They adore espresso but have informed me the machine we purchased absolutely will not do. Apparently it offends their delicate sensibilities as the crema is not to their specification. Their job is to make certain the cappuccino is suitable for our customers. Dutifully, we've ordered a new machine to their liking.
More fairy families have taken up residence around town. At the Buffalo Flower Basket the wee folk resemble fragrant blooms of pink and yellow with iridescent flecks of green in their wings. At night they make fanciful arrangements of daisies and daffodils.
Benevolent are the fairies who've moved into the Buffalo Press offices. The wordy ones tend toward spell check and fact finding. Always helpful, those loquacious pixies.
We've learned there are fashionable imps who have their eye on moving to Heart and Home Boutique, hungry ones to Mickey's, and garden fairies who wish to find homes at Davis Country Store. All they need is a tiny door.
At THM last Friday, all of the town's fairies were in attendance at the Open Mic Night. They were dazzled by the quality of the music. The female fairies got together and magically transported the beautiful sounds through the ethers. Melodious chords and harmonies floated past stars to the V.F. F. so their friends could listen. Thanks to our local musicians we believe there will be further migrations of fairy families to our town. They are sure to be musical in nature.
Many of us can identify with the desire to live in the country. We are here for the expanses of open land. We're here to bond with new friends. THM is the place in town to come together and share life. Join us, you may spot a fairy or two.
