The youngest Bison wrapped up a stellar season by barreling through the district tournament in Trinity.

Buffalo faced Onalaska in the first round and established their dominance early, outscoring their opponent 24-0 in the first quarter, then went on to win 40-6. Brendon Smith and Logan Jones led the Bison with ten points each.

In the second game, Centerville went down without a fight, as Tyler Adams and Bobby Dorman led the Bison to a 43-9 victory.

In the Championship Game, the Bison got off to a slow start and trailed after the first quarter, but came from behind to

beat New Waverly in another solid win, 52-29.

The undisputed Seventh Grade District Champs were undefeated in the season. Team members include Ben Smith, Cameron Hughes, Josue Lechuga, Jacob DeBorde, Alex Alvarez, Kyle Read, David Espinoza, Tyler Adams, Trent Martin, Bobby Dorman, Logan Jones, George Holquin, Brendon Smith, and Mason Allen.

EIGHTH GRADE

The Eighth Grade Bison team, undefeated in regular season district play, suffered a disappointing loss in the District Tournament and took second place to New Waverly.

Game One pitted BJHS against Corrigan, and the Bison won handily, 51-13, led by Travis Cunningham (13 points) and Dalton Helmcamp (12 points -- all on 3-pointers).

Game Two against the Centerville Tigers was another story. The two teams are well-matched and the lead changed hands throughout the game, but Buffalo was on top at the final buzzer, 31-30.

Just a short time later, however, the Bison had to face New Waverly. That game was hard-fought, but the Bison fell behind at halftime (16-26) and were never able to make up the deficit. The final was 42-37, New Waverly, with Cunningham leading all scorers with 15 points and Cain Hayes contributing 12.

The 8th grade team members are: Travis Cunningham, Trent Little, Ty Tollett, Cain Hayes, Jose Dominguez, Ivan Rivas, Dakota Lewis, Jesus Lopez, Mario Cortez, Jose Nava, Dominic Jackson and Travis Cunningham
