Van'Go'photos The Lady Bison hosted Corrigan-Camden for their final home game of the season. Prior to the contest, seniors Jami Davis, Ashley Elsom and Heather McKelroy were recognized along with their parents. After a close first half, the Lady Bison were able to pull away for a 54-36 win. Buffalo's junior varsity won 27-19.

Buffalo scored nineteen points in the first quarter to secure a five point lead. The Lady Bulldogs cut that lead to two at the half, 28-26. The Lady Bison turned up the heat on defense and executed better offense in the third quarter as they built a 44-30 advantage. Buffalo added another ten in the final quarter for the 54-36 victory.

Latisha Jackson and Ashley Elsom, both hitting fifty percent of their shots, led the Lady Bison with fifteen and twelve points. Jami Da- vis also reached double digits with eleven. Kaila Grissett netted eight points while Erica Jones added four. Jones also pulled down twelve rebounds for the Lady Bison. Karlee Ferguson and Kelsey Canady each managed two points for Buffalo.

The junior varsity wrapped up a very successful season with a 27-19 win over the Lady Bulldogs. The score was tied at five at the end of the first quarter, but the Lady Bison went on a ten point scoring run in the second quarter to lead 15-5 at the half. Another ten in the third quarter maintained the Lady Bison's margin going into the fourth quarter. Buffalo managed two points in the fourth, but held on for the 27-19 win.

Lindsey McGill scored eight points, six in the second quarter, to lead the Lady Bison. Samantha Atkinson and Tristan Brewer provided six and five points, respectively. Haley Ellison, Reagan Read, Heather Egan and Emily Grissett all tossed in two points for the Lady Bison.

PLAYOFF BID

The Lady Bison came up short Saturday in the playoff for a playoff spot. Trinity and Buffalo completed district play in a tie for third place, so a one-game playoff was necessary to determine the third team to represent 21AA in the state playoffs. The Lady Bison, plagued with illness for the past two weeks, struggled to get any offense going in the first half, and ran out of time in the second as the Lady Tigers walked away with the win and playoff ticket,53-41.

Trinity won the opening quarter 15-6 and led 32-12 at the half. The Lady Bison battled back, racking up points in the third quarter on steals and lay ups. Their efforts closed the gap to ten, but the Lady Bison could not get any closer as Trinity scored the win.

Jami Davis and Latisha Jackson led the Lady Bison with fifteen and ten points. Ashley Elsom and Lindsey McGill scored seven and five, respectively. Kaila Grissett and Karlee Ferguson finished with two points each.

Trinity will advance to meet Kirbyville in bi-district on Tuesday. Kirbyville was the second place team in 22AA. Newton, third place from 22AA, will take on Groveton in a double-header with Trinity on Tuesday. District champion New Waverly will enter the playoffs at the area level next weekend.
