Varsity men split with Corrigan and Trinity
Senior Chad Nelson converts a steal into two points for the Bison early in Tuesday's district game with Corrigan-Camden. The Varsity men saw their last hopes at a playoff spot slip away on Tuesday night, but showed their Bison pride as they came back with a win on Friday.
CORRIGAN-CAMDEN
The Bison had their sights set on a win on Tuesday night when they hosted the Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs in district play. The Bulldogs had won the first meeting between the two teams, and the Bison were looking for revenge. Buffalo fans were treated to a thriller, but ultimately this game went into the record books as "one that got away".
Kirby McNair scored the first two buckets of the contest and BHS jumped out to a 16-9 lead after one quarter. The Bulldogs roared back early in the second with a nine-point run and claimed the lead with a pair of 3-pointers with 5:17 still to go in the half. Buffalo trailed 22-26 at the break.
BHS answered with a run of their own in the third, with Jordan Canady, Dakota Champion and Micah Burnside Jones draining the net from beyond the arc. Buffalo was back on top 41-35 going into the final quarter.

Van'Go'photo Early in the fourth C-C tied the game at 43-all, but Canady sank a huge three to put the advantage back in the Bison's favor. The Bulldogs got hot and everything went sour for BHS in the final moments. Corrigan-Camden was able to ice the game at the free-throw line and took the victory by three, 52-55.
Canady led his teammates with 20 points, followed by Burnside-Jones with 11 and McNair with 10. Saxton Sims added 6, Champion 3 and Chad Nelson tacked on a pair of three-throws.
TRINITY
BuffaloVarsity seniors Kirby McNair, Chad Nelson and Jesus Davis played their final game in the BHS gym Friday night where the Bison defeated the Trinity Tigers in a nail-biter.
Trinity drew first blood but Nelson answered for the Bison, driving the lane to score a lay-up. The first quarter was low-scoring, but BHS led 9-7 at the end.
Ryan Read, playing in his second game of the eve- ning, hit a three-pointer to open the second quarter and Dakota Champion followed with another. The Tigers were hitting their shots as well, though, and the lead changed hands four times in the period. Buffalo took a 23-20 advantage into the locker room.
The Bison outscored the Tigers 11-8 in the third, sparked by a pair of threes by Jordan Canady, to lead by six going into the final period. The Tigers clawed their way back in the fourth, however, and a single basket was all that separated the two teams in the final moments of the contest. Champion iced the game with a pair of free throws in the final seconds to put BHS up by four, and a last-second bucket by Trinity was not enough to claim the victory. Buffalo won, 46-44.
The first meeting of the two teams had been the Battle of the Three-Pointers, but this time the Tigers hit only two of 16 long shots. Canady led all scorers with 15 points. McNair and Champion each added 8, Burnside-Jones contributed 7, Nelson added 4, Read added a 3-pointer and Curtis Yates tacked on a freethrow to complete the scoring for the Bison.
