JV Lady Tigers drop a close one to Trinity
      Centerville got off to a slow start and trailed by eight after the first quarter but Centerville closed the gap and trailed by one at the half, 18- 17. Centerville fell behind by four entering the fourth quarter and they swapped basket for basket in the fourth quarter and Trinity had the edge as the game ended 33-29.

CHS JV defeats Trinity in battle of Tigers
      The Centerville JV Tigers played a tough opponent in the Trinity Tigers and won by a 43-33 margin. Centerville trailed by three after the first period but took the lead by six with a strong second quarter. Trinity cut the margin to five as the fourth period began but Centerville outscored Trinity by five in the fourth to win by ten 43-33.

Centerville Tigers defeat A-S and Trinity in 21AA action
      C'ville VS Anderson-Shiro The Centerville Tigers hit 58% (15-26) from two-point range and defeated Anderson- Shiro 48-35 in Anderson on February 3. The Tigers led by nine after the first period and increased that margin to fourteen at half time.

CHS Lady Tigers lose to Trinity in high-scoring game
      Centerville got off to a 11-3 lead in the first period but Trinity whittled it down to a two-point lead as the first quarter ended. Both teams had a good offensive second quarter which ended with Trinity on top by four, 33-29. Trinity built a nine-point advantage as the third period came to a close. Centerville closed the gap in the final period but came up short, 63-55.

Leon JV Cougars win cat fight against Teague Lions
      The Cougars played a tight game against the Teague Lions at Leon High School on February 3 before coming out on top. The Cougars were ahead by one at the end of the first quarter and increased that margin to five at half time, 16- 11.

Jr High boys post wins over A-S Owls
      The BJHS boys finished the regular season schedule the same way they started, dominating their opponents. Last week's victims were the Anderson-Shiro Owls, who found themselves out-manned by the Bison. In SEVENTH GRADE action, BJHS gained momentum with every quarter. They outscored the Owls 25-12 in the first half and 32 to 14 in the second, for a decisive 57- 26 win.

JV Lady Bison split
      The junior varsity Lady Bison didn't like the outcome of their last meeting with Groveton. Tuesday night, there was no doubt as to the better team as Buffalo pulled off a 31-13 victory over the Lady Indians in Bison Gym. Their luck did not hold on Friday when they fell victim to Anderson-Shiro 12-7.

In spite of illness... Lady Bison defeat Anderson-Shiro
      The flu bug has hit, and the Lady Bison are suffering. Two players missed the game and another three were limited Friday night. Nevertheless, Buffalo valiantly fought and came home from Anderson-Shiro with another "must win" victory. The Lady Bison won the contest 39-32.

Leon Lady Cougars will face Marlin for the District 20AA Championship
      The Leon Lady Cougars took care of business by defeating Teague and Rosebud- Lott to set up a showdown match for the district championship against the Marlin Lady Bulldogs in the Leon gym on February 10. The Bulldogs defeated the Cougars in Marlin on January 23 and was the only blemish on the Cougars' record as they have an 8-1 record in district and 20-7 for the season.

JV men back in the WIN column
      The JV Bison men broke their sour streak with a solid victory over the Groveton Indians in the BHS gym on Tuesday evening. Buffalo jumped out early but the Indians had tightened things up by the end of the first quarter, 9-7. Buffalo had a six-point advantage at halftime, but Groveton again closed to within two, 26-25 late in the third period.

Lady Bison score win over Groveton
      After trailing by thirteen at the half, Buffalo needed a miracle. That miracle came in the form of tenacious play and aggressive defense as the Lady Bison pulled off a 52-47 overtime win over Groveton to remain in the playoff picture. Groveton has secured second place in district 21AA behind New Waverly. Buffalo and Trinity are tied for third.

They're ba-ack! Bison post two big district wins
      VS GROVETON While it may be too late to make the playoffs, the Buffalo Bison bounced back from last week's loses to put together a solid game for the home fans on Tuesday evening, as they trounced the Groveton Indians.
