Lady Tigers take it on the chin against New Waverly

The Lady Tigers ran up against a very quick and speedy New Waverly team and were defeated 80-38. The Tigers trailed by nine after the first period but that deficit increased to twenty by half time, 16-36. The margin ballooned to twenty-six beginning the fourth quarter and the final margin was fortytwo 80-38.

The Lady 'Dogs had a pressing defense and forced the Lady Tigers into many turnovers and controlled the tempo of the game.

Stats for the game: LeAnne Jones led the Tigers in scoring with twelve, blocked several shots and had several rebounds in a losing cause. Also scoring for the Lady Tigers were Kelsey Lagrone (7 points), Hannah Word (6 points); Sarah Mutschler (5 points); LaShaundra Ransom (4 points); Christie Wellman (2 points); and Rebecca Smith (2 points);

The Lady Tigers travel to Anderson on February 3 and host Trinity on February 6.
