Jimmy Wayne Knight

Graveside funeral services for Jimmy Knight, age 58, of Centerville, were held at 3:30 p.m., Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Centerville Cemetery in Centerville, Texas. Dr. Ken Huggins officiated the service. Walters Funeral Home in Centerville was in charge of all arrangements.

Jimmy Wayne Knight was born on February 9, 1950 in Centerville, Texas to Alvis, Sr. & Minnie Bert (Gardner) Knight. He was raised in Centerville and graduated from the Centerville High School in 1968. Mr. Knight was a retiree of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice where he held several positions. He worked as a field boss for most of his career and was employeed at Eastham, Ferguson, McConnell, Polunsky and Clemens prison units. He enjoyed woodworking, being outside and his horses. Mr. Knight passed away Monday, January 19, 2009 in Lufkin, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alvis Knight, Jr. and brothersin law, Michael Ray Dixon & Frank Kimball.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Knight of Livingston; sons, David Knight & wife, Jamie & Chris Knight of Fairfield; sisters, Charlotte Hofferek & husband, Joe Bill of Spring, Barbara Kimball of Centerville & Shirley Bell & husband, Mike of Monroe, Louisiana and 6 grandchildren, Maigan Nichole, Nicholas Hunter, Emily Ann, Brittney Shea, Ethan Shawn & Chrisitan Malachi Knight.

Pallbearers were James McBride, Michael McBride, Ellis Carrigan, James Brock, Dennis Maywald and R.J. McBride.
