The Leon County 4-H Horse Club is having an open playday series January 29, Febuary 19, and March 20 at the yellow rose arena. The County Jamboree will take place on February 21, 2008 at the Lone Star Community Center. Dinner will be served at 5:00 p.m. followed by a talent show at 6:00. Local talent is welcome.

Freestone Co. Goat Breeders Spring Pen Sale - Sat. February 28th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fairgrounds in Fairfield, Texas.

A "Miscellaneous Auction" will be held at the Lone Star Community Center on March 7. The viewing will start at 5:00 p.m. followed by the sale at 6:00.

Biologists from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will host a Wildlife Tax Valuation Workshop on Saturday, March 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Gus Engeling Wildlife Management Area Wildlife Conservation Center at 16149 N.
