Leon Cougars lose to talented Somerville team

The Leon Cougars were defeated 65-47 by a tall and quick Somerville team in non-district action at the Leon gym on January 12. Somerville applied full court pressure throughout the game that kept the Cougars off balance. Somerville had a much taller team and controlled the boards and created a fast tempo to the game. The Cougars only trailed by two as the first period ended but the deficit grew to nineteen at half time. Somerville kept applying the pressure and the third period ended with Somerville on top by twenty four. The final margin was trimmed to eighteen as the Cougars never gave up and continued to hustle until the final buzzer.
