Van'Go'photo Lady Bison Karlee Ferguson makes a move to the basket for two of her eight points in the BHS road win at Corrigan. Van'Go'photo Friday night marked the end of the first half of league play. The Lady Bison secured two wins over Corrigan- Camden to go to 4-3 in district play. The junior varsity had their second highest offensive outing of the season with the 35-10 win over the Lady Bulldogs. The varsity Lady Bison topped their prior best as they won 59-29.

The junior varsity Lady Bison were led by a season best performance by post Samantha Atkinson. The freshman received notification of her grandmother's death on the way to the game. Though upset by the news, Atkinson anchored a campaign in which Buffalo never wavered. The Lady Bison scored nine unanswered points in the first quarter. Buffalo doubled Corrigan Camden's output in the second period to lead 15-3 at the half. The Lady Bison poured it on in the third, pulling further away with a 12-2 outing. Coach Skelton cleared the bench for the fourth quarter and the subs got plenty of action. The Lady Bison scored another eight points in the final minutes as the Lady Bulldogs added another five to their total.

Atkinson led all scorers with sixteen points. Reagan Read managed seven points while Lindsey McGill totaled six. Emily Grissett, Tristan Brewer and Haley Ellison all chipped in two.

The varsity girls put together their most consistent performance of the season as they rolled to a win. The Lady Bison hit double digits in each quarter while holding Corrigan-Camden under that bar. Buffalo squeezed out sixteen first quarter points, getting assistance from seven players through the stretch. Leading by ten going into the second, the Lady Bison pushed that to twenty with an 18-8 performance. Leading 34-14, Buffalo doubled the Lady Bulldogs offense in the third with fourteen points. The Lady Bison tallied eleven in the last eight minutes for the 59-29 final.

Senior guard Jami Davis led a trio of Lady Bison in double figures. Davis finished with 21 while Ashley Elsom and Latisha Jackson bagged eleven and ten, respectively. Karlee Ferguson connected for eight. Erica Jones, Heather McKelroy, Meredith Shaw and Kelsey Canady all managed a field goal while Kaila Grissett tacked on a free throw.

The Lady Bison begin the second half of district play on Tuesday in Trinity. The game matches two teams currently in third place in district play. New Waverly ran the gamut the first half with a 7-0 slate. Groveton came in second at 6-1. Buffalo will host New Waverly on Friday.
