Marlyene West

Funeral services for Mrs. Marlyene West, 79, of Donie will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Bowers funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Post Oak Cemetery in Donie. Bro. Paul Pryor will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday with the family present from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. West passed away on Monday, January 19, 2009, at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield. She was born in Cotton Gin to Joe and Pearl Gilliam and lived in Freestone County all of her life. She married Lee Roy West on Feb 24, 1951, and shared over fifty-seven years together. Mrs. West was an avid reader and took subscriptions to several local newspapers. She collected many news articles throughout the years which she would clip from the local papers. Mrs. West enjoyed caring for her family and seeing to it that they were always well fed.

She is survived by her husband, Lee Roy West; one son, Kevin West and wife, Kim; two grandsons, Blake West and Dustin West all of Donie; and numerous other relatives. Mrs. West was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings.
