Ruth Pierce

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Pierce, age 77, of Centerville were held at 3 PM, Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Centerville. Ed Houk and Drew Pierce officiated at the service. Burial was in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Ruth Pierce was born on March 25, 1931 in Centerville to Willie B. and Ouida Pearl (Ward) Robinson. She had lived in Centerville for the past 28 years, having moved from Houston. Mrs. Pierce was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Centerville. She always enjoyed working in her yard and had beautiful flowers. She was also very active in church when younger. She was preceded in death by her parents and five of her brothers, Jack W. Robinson, Elton Robinson, Lindberg Robinson, M.N. "Cotton" Robinson and Ersell Robinson. Mrs. Pierce passed away Monday morning, December 22, 2008 at a Centerville nursing facility.

Surviving family members include her husband, Harold Pierce of Centerville; son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Debbie Pierce of Baytown; daughter and son-inlaw, Robbie and Don Ferguson of Centerville; a brother, Stanley Robinson of Buffalo; two sisters, Lillian Pierce of Centerville and Lyndall Hale of Sugarland; a granddaughter, Jamie Ferguson of Centerville and many nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers were Glenn Robinson, Bryan Robinson, Tommy Pierce, Bobby Pierce, Eddie Hammock and Jeremy Hammock.
