Dew School Board recognized
The month of January 2009 has been designated by Governor Rick Perry as School Board Recognition Month. Dew ISD is joining with other districts to thank board members for caring so much about the future of every child enrolled in our public schools. Students, staff, and community members are served by the tireless effort of the board to insure that the financial support as well as educational support is readily available. Many hours are spent in required training, research, and meetings in an ef- fort to provide the leadership needed to support the educational needs of our students. Members voluntarily serve without any compensation for their efforts, not to mention that most members have regular job responsibilities elsewhere. "The board members of Dew ISD have done an exceptional job and we all appreciate their tireless efforts," said Tom Weeaks, Dew ISD Superintendent. Dew ISD School Board members are President David Fowler of Heritage Title and Abstract, Vice-President Chuck Lopez of NRG Energy, Secretary Kim Massey of Buffalo Animal Hospital, Trustee Eric Simpson of NRG Energy, Trustee Clyde Allen of South Freestone County Water Supply Corporation, Trustee David Lancaster of Westmoreland Coal Company, and Trustee Lisa Webb of 3L Used Waste Oil Company. "The future of Dew ISD is bright," says Mr. Weeaks. "Eight new classrooms, a new band hall, and a new library project are scheduled for completion in early February. |
