The Third Annual MLK Celebration in Normangee January 19

The Carter G. Woodson Alumni Association and Help a Child Organization presents the third annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s Celebration. It is a multi-ethnic, multicultural, diverse celebration. It will kick off Monday, January 19, 2009 in Normangee. A community parade will start the festivities at 10:00 am from the show barn located in front of NISD. Any one wishing to participate from Normangee or other towns will meet parade coordinator Bill Wagner at 9:15 a.m. There is no cost to participate. Bill Wagner may be reached at 936-396-6216.

Later that afternoon at 1:00 p.m., on the campus of NISD, an inspirational program will be held. The headliners are NHS students and former students, Bro. Bob Campbell from Lakewood Church, (keynote speaker), and 15-year-old Dante Jackson who will give Dr. King's famous "I Have a Dream" speech.

Donations and offerings will be accepted. All events are free and open to the public. Everyone is welcomed to attend and or participate.
