Centerville Tigers lose to New Waverly in district opener
      The Centerville Tigers traveled to New Waverly on January 2 and found out why New Waverly is one of the top teams in district 21AA as the Tigers lost 82-33. The Tigers got off on the wrong foot and fell behind by eleven points in the first quarter and had a deficit of twenty nine at the half.

Centerville defeats Bremond in the battle of the JV Lady Tigers
      The Centerville Lady Tigers junior varsity had an easy time against the Bremond Lady Tigers in Centerville on January 2 and won by a 44-9 score. Bremond had five players and Centerville had about twenty ladies suited out.

OHS Lady Panthers nip Leon Lady Cougars
      The Oakwood Lady Panthers upped their season record to an impressive 19-1 with a hard fought battle against the Leon Lady Cougars at Oakwood on December 30.

Leon Lady Cougars run by Caney Creek
      The Leon Lady Cougars traveled to Conroe on December 31 to tangle with the Caney Creek Lady Panthers in a nondistrict game and the Cougars came out on top 39-29. The Cougars started out fast and had a nine point lead after the first period but it was trimmed to a six point advantage at half time.

JV Bison men fall to Onalaska
      The JV Bison men faced a tough team from Onalaska in the district opener and came out on the losing end of the battle, 41-51, despite a valiant fourth-quarter effort. The Wildcats jumped out to the early lead and dominated the Bison through three periods.

Lady Bison return to action
      The Lady Bison returned to action by competing in the Rosebud-Lott Christmas Classic on December 29th and 30th. Buffalo defeated Rosebud Lott, but fell to Granger and Waco Connally. Connally went undefeated through the two days while Buffalo picked up a third place finish. Jami Davis was chosen for the all-tournament team.

Bison men fall to Onalaska in district opener
      After competing gamely at the Lovelady Tournament earlier in the week, on Friday the varsity Bison opened district play at Onalaska. The Bison were still missing several key players and the shallow bench proved to be a problem. The remaining team members played hard, but BHS turned the ball over frequently and the night ended with a disappointing loss to the Wildcats.

Bison bring home hardware in Lovelady Tournament
      The Bison men participated in the Lovelady Basketball Tournament last week, and Coach Warren Ringland's team pulled off two wins despite being very short-handed.
