Bison win home opener
      The Buffalo Bison kicked off the 2010 season with a balanced attack and an exciting win at Brewer Field on Friday, August 27. Their opponent was the Bremond Tigers, who last year advanced far into the 1A playoffs. The Tigers won the toss, but in their opening possession, Jesus Lopez and Tate Hartley had big stops and the Bison defense denied Bremond a first down.

      The young Lady Bison volleyball team is starting to gel, as evidenced by their play this weekend in the Centerville Tournament.

Freshman Bison trounce Teague
      The youngest Bison hosted Teague at Brewer Field on Thursday, and they had no trouble handling the larger school in the season opener. The offense was successful both on the ground and through the air, and the Bison defense limited the Lions to 3-and-out on almost every possession.

JV Men lose hard-fought battle at Bremond
      The JV Bison opened with a road game at Bremond. The Tigers took the win, 28- 24, but BHS players, coaches and fans held their heads high at the end of the contest because the Bison had played with heart and enthusiasm. The JV coaches looked at new players and moved others to new positions.

      Sometimes, Life throws you hurdles and to get past them, you have to make changes. There has been a lot of that going on in Oakwood recently. With the death of football coach Steve Davis right before the start of the new school year, schedules had to be changed across the board.

Oakwood Panthers Crush the Fort Worth Nazarene Lions
      Ouch! The final score...66 to 18. The officials weren't the only ones calling out for mercy [rule] after the Oakwood Panthers got through with the Fort Worth Nazarene Lions this Saturday. The OHS Panthers traveled to Azele Christian in their first official game of the season. After losing one of their coaches, Defensive Coordinator, Steve Davis, just a couple of weeks ago...

Centerville Lady Tigers win consolation trophy
      The Centerville Lady Tigers hosted 16 teams in their tournament and came away with the consolation trophy. On Thursday August 26th the Tigers defeated Wortham 25-8 and 25-9 in their game at 9:00am. In the second contest at 11:00am the Tigers defeated Coolidge 25-10 and 25-6.

Lady Cougars take Consolation at the Tyler tournament
     continued their strong early season play when they travelled to Tyler for a tournament against some tough 5A schools as well as some very good 2A, 3A, and 4A teams. A total of 32 teams entered the tournament. The Cougars defeated Athens 25-9, and 25-9 in their first game on August 27th. The second game on Friday the Cougars defeated Huntington 25-19, and 25-11.
