Healthy for Life Week – October 27 to October 31, 2014
     For those women who are fortunate enough to be able to have a mammogram on a regular basis, there are few words more precious than “the test is negative” or “there is no change”. For those women who get called back for more testing there are few words to express the fear that grips the pit of their stomachs and consumes their minds and bodies.

Girls learn to “Kick for Kindness”
     By Sherry Matney The Bison Belles held a dance camp on Saturday, October 18, in the High School gymnasium and taught 26 girls, not only how to do a dance routine, but how to be kind to each other.

     The Buffalo Extension Education Club met October 15, 2014 at Stewart Methodist Church in Buffalo. There were twelve ladies present, including Amanda Trevino, our Agri Life Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Science and 4-H.

Masons honor Tom Davis with The Golden Trowel
     Local businessman Tom Davis was awarded The Golden Trowel by the Buffalo Masonic Lodge # 554 at a meeting on October 20th. The Golden Trowel is the highest award that can be bestowed on a Mason. Davis graduated from Buffalo High School in 1968 and has been a lifelong resident of Buffalo. Davis has been a supporter of many organizations and fund raisers in Leon County.

Buffalo Lions bring a real lion to Buffalo
     October 13, 2014 started with thunderstorms, blustery winds, and cool weather but the skies cleared in time for the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus to raise the big top at Harriman Park for the two scheduled shows. The Buffalo Lions Club sponsored the one ring circus which included a lion, tigers, horses, dogs, and various other talented performances.
