BISD welcomes new administrators
     In addition to many new teachers this school year, BISD also welcomes three new administrators. Two will serve on the high school campus, while the other will be at the elementary campus. Corey Hickerson is the new principal at Buffalo High School. He comes to Buffalo after spending one year as principal at Rice ISD. He is married with a daughter and another child on the way.

Local salon offers free haircuts for kids
     It started with a simple idea. Studio 75 Salon owner Brittany Cunningham had an idea to give back to the community she calls home. She decided that she and her fellow stylists, Rachael Dobbs, and Sarah Sheffield, would give haircuts to children in PreK-12th grade for only $10.00. This would be a one day only event before kids headed back to school.

2018-19 Texas Hunting, Fishing Licenses on sale Wednesday, Aug 15
     AUSTIN – With opening of dove hunting season only a couple weeks away, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department reminds sportsmen that all current year Texas hunting and fishing licenses (except year-to-date fishing licenses) expire Aug 31. New licenses for 2018-19 go on sale Wednesday, Aug. 15.

Succulent Workshop set for Sept 19
     The Leon County Master Gardeners will be hosting a Succulent Workshop on Wednesday, September 19, in the Great Room of Leon County Annex II. The Great Room of Leon County Annex II is located at 155 North Cass Street in Centerville. The program will begin at 12:05 p.m. and will conclude by 1:00 p.m.
