From the Desk of the County Judge
     2015 is quickly coming to a close and it has been a good year for Leon County. We have passed our 2015-2016 budget. It is in balance. We did this by tightening our belts and no new tax rate. The rate this year will be very familiar to you because we have had the same rate for at least 11 years now and, hopefully, this will persist into the future. Leon County is still a debt free county.

Leslie Hensler hosts Buffalo EE Club
     The Buffalo Extension and Education Club met September 16 in the beautiful home of Leslie Hensler. It was the first meeting since May as there are no meetings over the summer. Eight members were in attendance. They were Virginia Crabb, Leslie Hensler, Joyce Stark, Linda Long, JoAnn Zapolski, Charlcie Casey, Marilyn Brown and Clara Dillard.

     9/16/15 Deputy Robert Rhyne dispatched to CR 386 in Marquez in reference to prowler complaints. Unable to locate. Deputy Jack Tomlinson dispatched to PR 4450 in Normangee in reference to a suspicious person complaint. Forwarded to investigations.

Buffalo Chamber of Commerce seeking funding
     The Buffalo Chamber of Commerce met on September 24 will all members present except Dusty Payne and Jessica Wood. Molly Glick reported that funding was being sought for daily operations of the Chamber and for the possible 2016 Buffalo Stampede but that no definite arrangements had yet been made.
