Leon County 4-H Clubs turn out involved citizens
     Next week, October 5-10, 2014, has been proclaimed National 4-H week. For the thousands and even millions who grew up in a rural area, 4-H has been an extremely positive part of life. A ten-year long study, completed by a team of researchers at the Institute for Applied Research in Youth Development at Tuft University in Medford, MA shows that 4-H youth excel beyond their peers.

Buffalo Public Library Teen Read Week
     The Buffalo Public Library is celebrating Teen Read Week from October 12 through October 18.We are inviting pre-teens and teens to join us at the library on Wednesday Oct. 15 from after school until 4:30 for cokes. Let us know how the library can serve you better, and what books you would like to see added to the collection.

Keep Leon County beautiful
     Fall is in the air, and it's great to be outside! All sorts of projects are in the works--and to update our records we need Your Help! We need an accurate reporting of where the Adopted sections of roads are in the county. Large blue signs along roads that say "Next ## mile of road adopted by 'group name'. As you are out and about please jot down the location of the sign and what it says.

Leon County Sheriff’s Report
     09/17/14 Chris Nash responded to Robbins for the report of loose livestock and CR 477 for the report of a disturbance. Cody Wood was dispatched to FM 1119 for the report of loose livestock; Flynn for the report of a suicidal subject; CR 491 for the report of an animal complaint; and Marquez for the report of a suspicious vehicle.
