Leon County Expo gets improved driveway and parking lot
     Those individuals responsible for the Leon County Expo Center are excited about its success in the first six months of activities. There are currently 16 events scheduled at the Expo through the end of the year, including the Mel Tillis Concert on September 27 and Veterans Appreciation Day on October 4.

Standing with Ms. Gleghorn is Branch Manager Chase Glick and on the opposite side is Senior Vice President Jason Hullum, who offices in Fairfield. National Junior Honor Society ceremony at Upper JH campus
     On September 9, 2014 the 7th and 8th grades inducted members into the National Junior Honor Society at the Upper Junior High School Campus. Macky Morales offered the invocation and James Rodell with pledges to the flags. Principal Greg Kennedy welcomed guests to the ceremony.

The Lord’s Pantry is Chamber Member of the Month
     The Buffalo Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the September Member of the Month. It is The Lord's Pantry. The Lord's Pantry was started in 1995 by a group of local churches, businesses, and service groups in response to the growing need for clothing and food in Leon County.

Tough issues facing Congress this week
     This week the U.S. House of Representatives takes up two key bills – one which funds the government until mid-December, and another that responds to the recent request by President Obama to train prowestern rebels in Syria to serve as the ‘boots on the ground’ in the critical fight to destroy the most radical and best financed terrorist group the U.S.

“Bells Across the County” on September 17
     Years ago, September 17-23 was declared "National Constitution Week" to be annually observed by all. The Colonel George Dashiell Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, is inviting everyone in Leon County to join together for the September 17th project of "BELLS ACROSS THE COUNTY".
