Great turnout for Bobo’s fruit tree seminar
     Tom LeRoy, a well known horticulturist and humorist, has proven to be a great draw for gardeners around Leon County, and Saturday was no exception. About 160 individuals bundled up and crowded into the greenhouse set up for meetings in back of Bobo's store.

Oakwood reorganizes the Extension Education Club
     Several ladies of the Oakwood community met in late 2016 and determined to reorganize the Oakwood Extension Education Club. Extension clubs are found throughout the county and ultimately the state of Texas, with the purpose of education and community service. Oakwood is one of four such clubs in Leon County.

Friends of Fort Boggy holds their annual meeting
     The Friends of Fort Boggy held their annual meeting on January 16th at Centerville High School. Nineteen members were present and president Wayne Phillips presided. Paul K. Matney asked the blessing for the food. The meeting began with a hot dog supper and desserts provided by the members.
